Team WRT BMW controls Thursday testing at Monza

The #46 Team WRT BMW paced Thursday's paid test session at Monza. The three-hour run was a prelude to this weekend's Fanatec GT Europe Endurance Cup event, which culminates in a three-hour race on Sunday afternoon.

Maxime Martin set a 1m45.287s at the wheel of the #46 entry – which he shares with Raffaele Marciello and Valentino Rossi – to lead a Team WRT one-two at the top of the order. The sister #32 machine was second quickest with Dries Vanthoor at the wheel, 0.011s shy of his fellow Belgian's benchmark.

Arjun Maini was third aboard the #77 HRT Mercedes-AMG, leading the Gold Cup class in the process, while Adam Smalley was P4 in the #188 Garage 59 McLaren and led the Bronze Cup standings. Ayhancan Güven completed the top five at the wheel of the #22 Schumacher CLRT Porsche.

The #10 Boutsen VDS Mercedes-AMG led the Silver Cup order in 29th overall. Aurélien Panis posted a 1m45.970s, which was just 0.683s shy of Martin's session-leading lap. Indeed, less than a second covered the top 41 cars in this afternoon's test. The full results sheet can be viewed here.

This weekend's event also features competitive action from McLaren Trophy Europe, the Fanatec GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli and the GT4 European Series Powered by RAFA Racing Club, each of which will stage a pair of races on the 5.8km Monza circuit. Tickets are still available, with a full weekend pass including paddock access costing just €35. For more information, please click here
