• Traditional pre-season event brings 53 cars to the south of France
• Machinery from nine manufacturers confirmed for two days of testing
• Prologue entry list
Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS will officially launch its 2024 campaign this week when the annual pre-season Prologue gets underway at Circuit Paul Ricard.
The French venue will stage its traditional gathering on 5/6 March, bringing together 53 cars representing nine brands for two days of testing. Entrants can look forward to a combined 14 hours of running at the Var venue, with temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius and dry conditions forecast for both Tuesday and Wednesday.
A little over a month remains before the competitive action gets underway, making the Prologue an ideal opportunity for teams to work through testing programmes, build relationships between drivers and engineers, and in some cases get to grips with new machinery.
This will be especially important for those fielding the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 EVO and the Ford Mustang GT3, with both brands launching new cars this term. All of the teams confirmed for the 2024 season will be present at the Prologue, ensuring that Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche are also on the entry list.
The Prologue launches what is set to be a busy year for Fanatec GT Europe. The upcoming season features a refreshed schedule, kicking off at Circuit Paul Ricard on 5–7 April before heading to Brands Hatch (4/5 May) and Misano (17-19 May). The CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa Prologue runs on 21/22 May, followed by the main event on 26-30 June. This will be an extra special edition of the Belgian endurance classic, which celebrates its centenary this summer.
Spa is followed by back-to-back German events at Hockenheim (19-21 July) and the Nürburgring (26-28 July), then a return to French venue Magny-Cours on 23-25 August. Monza moves from its familiar spring date to 20-22 September, followed by the Sprint Cup finale at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (11-13 October) and a brand-new Endurance Cup decider in Jeddah on 21-23 November.
Fans can stay up to speed with events at Circuit Paul Ricard by following the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS social media channels, which will share the latest news, photos and video coverage from this season’s Prologue.
