GMB Motorsport has revealed the driver line-up for its 2024 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS programme with Aston Martin.
The Danish squad will field an all-Danish crew in the 10-round championship. Gustav Birch and Simon Birch will contest the full season, combining both Sprint and Endurance, with Kasper H. Jensen completing the GMB trio at long-distance events.
Gustav is the more experienced of the Birch cousins having run in the FIA WEC, ELMS and TCR Europe among other series. Simon has also built a solid C.V. that includes racing GT3 machinery in the Le Mans Cup, as well as plenty of domestic competition.
Jensen will add considerable experience to the crew when he joins at Endurance Cup events. The 32-year-old has won four successive TCR Denmark titles, the most recent pair with GMB Motorsport, as well as three Danish Thundersport championships and the Le Mans Cup GT3 class crown. In addition to his driving duties, Jensen will also act as coach to the young Birch cousins.
“There was never any doubt about who we wanted to man the car, and I am extremely satisfied that we succeeded with that plan," said team boss Henrik Lundgaard.
"We have two lightning fast and not least hungry young talents in Simon and Gustav, and with the addition of Kasper’s experience and winning mentality, I think we have found an almost complete crew. Now we are just really looking forward to getting some heat in the tyres and getting started with the final preparations for the season.”
GMB is one of three squads that have already committed to the new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and the second to confirm a crew following Walkenhorst Motorsport. The Danish outfit will participate in the traditional Fantec GT Europe Prologue at Circuit Paul Ricard on 5–6 March, followed by the opening Endurance Cup race at the same venue on 5–7 April and the first Sprint contest at Brands Hatch on 4–5 May
