Güven puts Pure Rxcing Porsche on top in Pre-Qualifying at Valencia

Ayhancan Güven topped Pre-Qualifying at Valencia in the #911 Pure Rxcing Porsche.

The Bronze Cup title-chasing squad received a major confidence boost from the pace of its Turkish pro driver, who was 0.122s quicker than Free Practice pace-setter Raffaele Marciello (#88 Akkodis ASP Mercedes-AMG).

Dean MacDonald continued to show well aboard the #111 JP Motorsport McLaren by placing third overall, while Andrea Caldarelli demonstrated Lamborghini's pace with the fourth-best lap in the #60 VSR entry.

Thierry Vermeulen (69 Emil Frey Racing Ferrari) was fifth, followed by Ricardo Feller (#40 Tresor Orange1 Audi). Seventh overall went to Jordan Love, who led the Silver Cup in the #77 HRT Mercedes-AMG.

In the Gold Cup class, the #21 Comtoyou Racing Audi moved to the top of the standings by placing 12th overall with Gilles Magnus at the wheel. In a close session, the top-29 cars were split by a shade over one second.

Two red flags interrupted proceedings. The first came around the halfway mark when the #71 AF Corse Ferrari went off at Turn 1 , while the second was caused by the #31 Team WRT BMW shedding a wheel at Turn 9. With less than three minutes left on the clock, the latter brought the session to a slightly early conclusion.

Cars will be on-track at 09:00 for Qualifying, which also marks the start of live streaming on the GT World YouTube channel. Fans can also watch Race 1 in full, with the action getting underway at 14:00.
