Comtoyou Racing maintained its unbeaten record at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa Prologue by leading a sunny Wednesday morning session in the Ardennes.
The sister #11 Audi paced both of Tuesday's runs, but on this occasion the #21 machine topped the times thanks to Max Hofer, who posted a 2m16.627s lap in the Gold Cup entry. This edged out last year's overall winner, the #88 Akkodis ASP Mercedes-AMG, by just 0.057s.
Tresor Attempto Racing led the Silver Cup with its #99 Audi, which placed fourth on the overall order. The best Bronze Cup car was just two spots back, the #3 GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG lapping within four tenths of the overall pace. Haupt Racing Team led the Pro-Am runners with its #64 Mercedes-AMG, which came in eighth overall.
As was the case on Tuesday afternoon, this morning's session was punctuated by several red flags. The #60 VSR Lamborghini went off at Raidillon within 10 minutes of the track going green, while further incidents included the #162 Uno Racing Audi at Les Combes and the #56 Dinamic GT Huber Racing Porsche. The latter made heavy contact with the barriers at Jacky Ickx Corner half an hour before the lunch break.
The 2023 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa Prologue concludes this afternoon with a further five hours of running between 13:00 and 18:00 CEST. As has been the case throughout, entry to the track is free.
