Comtoyou Racing ended the opening morning of the 2023 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa Prologue at the top of the timing screens courtesy of its #11 Audi.
Christopher Haase posted a 2m18.525s lap early in the three-hour session, after which rain left the circuit damp and prevented any improvement on the German driver's benchmark. The #11 Audi was 0.471s faster than the #79 HRT Mercedes-AMG, which was also the best of the Bronze Cup runners.
The #19 Iron Lynx Lamborghini was the top Gold Cup entrant in P8 overall. The #216 Modena Motorsports Porsche paced Pro-Am in P12, while the #26 Saintéloc Junior Team Audi led the Silver Cup class in P16.
Unfortunately the session was not all plain sailing for the #26 Audi, which brought out the red flags when it crashed at Pouhon shortly before 11:00 local time. The driver was unhurt, though the barriers required more than half an hour of attention before running could resume.
Cars will be back on-track from 13:00 until 18:00. Wednesday's schedule repeats the same format, running from 09:00–12:00 and 13:00-18:00. The circuit remains open to the public throughout, with admission offered free of charge.
