Leipert Motorsport confirms line-up for Spa assault with CrowdStrike-liveried Lamborghini

Leipert Motorsport has announced the driver line-up for its assault on this year's CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa (29 June – 2 July).

The experienced team from Wegberg in Germany will contest the twice-around-the-clock classic with an eye-catching CrowdStrike livery adorning its new Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2. Brendon Leitch anchors the Pro-Am class contender, returning for a second attempt at Spa having made his debut with Leipert in 2022.

The Kiwi will be joined by a trio of event newcomers, though all three have previously represented the Leipert outfit in Lamborghini Super Trofeo. American racers Gerhard Watzinger and Jean-Francois Brunot will be joined by China's Kerong Li to form a truly international quartet in the #70 machine.

Confirming the line-up, the team's managing directors Marcel Leipert and Marc Poos said: "We are proud to be competing in the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa again this year. In 2022 we raced the full season in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Endurance and the platform is excellent, we feel very comfortable here.

"We will use the upcoming 12h race at Spa with the 24h Series and the two official test days on 23 & 24 May to prepare the Lamborghini GT3 and the drivers in the best possible way for the biggest GT race in the world in the Ardennes."

A revised schedule for 2023 means preparations for the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa will begin earlier than ever this season. The official test days will take place on 23-24 May, while the main event is set to run over the weekend of 1-2 July, with track activity beginning on Tuesday 27 June and continuing throughout the week.

The programme will include a packed line-up of support action from the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, GT4 European Series, GT4 Scandinavia, GT1 by Curbstone and the all-new McLaren Trophy Europe. The essential off-track element will also be at full strength, featuring the traditional parade, music concert and other fan favourites.

A range of ticket options are available, beginning with Thursday/Friday access and running to the immersive General Entrance + Paddock ticket, which covers Thursday through Sunday and allows access around the circuit and to grandstands, the Fan Village, the Saturday night music concert and the paddock.
