Samantha Tan will make her TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa debut this summer, driving a BMW M4 GT3 for her own ST Racing outfit in the 74th edition of the Belgian endurance classic (28-31 July).
The Canadian racer has stepped up to the GT3 ranks this season after previously campaigning BMW's popular GT4 model. She was among the first drivers to run the newly homologated car in competition at January's 24 Hours of Dubai and has since used the M4 in Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS.
On Thursday (19 May) Tan announced via her social media channels that she will compete at this year's TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa, which will represent the biggest challenge yet for the ST Racing squad. Tan's fellow drivers in what is expected to be a Silver Cup entry will be named in due course.
By tackling the race with BMW, ST Racing will fly the flag for the event's most successful brand. BMW machinery has accumulated a record 24 overall wins in the Ardennes, the latest coming for Walkenhorst Motorsport in 2018.
Acknowledged as the global pinnacle in long-distance GT racing, the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa features world-leading automotive manufacturers, teams and drivers competing at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit in the Belgian Ardennes. This year’s edition is scheduled for 28-31 July and is preceded by two days of testing on 21-22 June.
