Season opener to air live in UK, Italy and Germany thanks to expanded television agreement with Sky

This weekend's Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS season opener will enjoy live television coverage in the UK, Italy and Germany thanks to the championship's expanded agreement with Sky.

The 2022 campaign begins with a three-hour Endurance Cup contest at Imola where a 52-car field will compete for victory. The major storylines heading into the event include the arrival of MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi, who will run the full campaign with Team WRT, while both Audi and BMW will give competitive debuts to new cars.

With the season kicking off at Imola on Sunday afternoon, it is appropriate that Italian fans can watch the race from start to finish on Sky Sport Action (14:30–18:30 CEST). In addition to the opening portion will also air on Sky Sport Uno (14:30–16:30 CEST). Viewers in Germany and the UK will be able to watch on their respective Sky Sports F1 channels. The German coverage will air from 14:30 until 18:30 CEST, while in the UK it runs from 13:30 until 17:30 BST.

The Sky agreement forms part of an extensive television package that has been put in place for the 2022 season. This includes a new deal with French channel AutoMoto La Chaîne, which will stream the race live and in full. A combination of live action and highlights will air across the globe, with Asia, America, Africa, Oceania and the Middle-East all among the regions covered.
