Mercedes-AMG completed a dominant Saturday at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya by topping the overall order as well as the Silver Cup and Pro-Am classes.
Indeed, the overall top-three represented the leaders in each category. AKKA ASP was fastest of all with its #88 machine thanks to a 1m46.510s from Raffaele Marciello and also led the way in the Silver Cup (1m46.659s) with Thomas Drouet at the wheel. Jim Pla put GetSpeed third overall and on top of the Pro-Am order, the Frenchman lapping in 1m46.673s.
Almost all of the quick laps were posted during the opening 15 minutes of the 90-minute session. The #26 Saintéloc Racing Audi was an exception, with factory driver Markus Winkelhock putting the new R8 LMS GT3 Evo II fourth overall.
The session-topping #88 Mercedes-AMG was the only title-contending car among the overall top-10; indeed, the next best was the #32 Team WRT Audi in 20th position. The #63 Orange1 FFF Racing Lamborghini was 22nd while the points-leading #51 Iron Lynx Ferrari could only manage 35th.
