Tech1 Racing paced this afternoon's running at Spa-Francorchamps after the French squad spent the majority of the session at the top of the timing screens with its #15 Lexus.
A rain-affected morning in the Ardennes was followed by a bright and sunny afternoon that saw increased temperatures. This ensured considerably faster lap times, with around 16 seconds separating the morning benchmark from the afternoon's best effort.
The Tech1 car posted a 2m19.200s lap to beat 2019 race winner GPX Racing to top spot by 0.014s. The Porsche squad was followed by Mercedes-AMG outfits JP Motorsport and HRT, while the #30 Audi Sport Team WRT completed the top five. All 50 cars that are entered for the test ran this afternoon.
The session saw two red flag stoppages, the second proving to be the more lengthy after the #74 RAM Racing Mercedes-AMG went off during the final section of the lap. There was also a brief full-course yellow period shortly before 18.00.
The test continues until 22.00 CET, with a four-hour night session giving teams the opportunity to run in the dark.
